So this morning I woke to Omar's chin on the side of my bed earlier than usual: 4:30 to be exact. Chin on the side of the bed means "I need to go out. Really." He is so damn cute that I get up every time, even though this morning was frigid. FRIGID. It was like 45 degrees out there. I know. I am a Californian. We do not handle any kind of weather at all.
Omar is "causing problems" again. This time he decided that he was Not! going to the park with That Woman. That Woman is someone he knows well, she comes to our house daily to walk the girl dogs. But! She doesn't take him on park trips. Someone else takes him on park trips. Notwithstanding a disasterous first meeting with her, during which he tried to bite her foot off, he now waits for her by draping his head over that back of the couch and looking longingly at the front door. For hours.
But she is on vacation, so That Woman is doing his park trips instead. Yesterday, it was explained to me, he snapped at That Woman while she was trying to get him out of his crate. He has rules. The walker does not do park trips. Sigh. Things that did not bother him yesterday bother him today.
And also? He has started protest pooping. I took him out the other night for half an hour. When we came home he promptly pooped behind the couch.
Canine adolescence.
My next dog will be a labrador.
